This program plan is based on entrance requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene program of the College of Health Related Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

Associate of Arts

ASU-Beebe does not offer a degree in Dental Hygiene. However, students are able to take courses that will transfer toward another university's degree program.

First Semester (16 credit hours)

BIOL 1004 Biological Science
ENG 1003 Freshman English I
CIS 1503 Microcomputer Applications I
MATH 1023 College Algebra

Choose one of the following:

HIST 2763 The U.S. to 1876
HIST 2773 The U.S. since 1876
POSCI 2103 Introduction to U.S. Government

Second Semester (16 credit hours)

BIOL 2104 Microbiology
ENG 1013 Freshman English II
SPCH 1203 Oral Communications
SOC 2213 Principles of Sociology

Choose one of the following:

* MUS 2503 Fine Arts Musical
* ART 2503 Fine Arts Visual
* THEA 2503 Fine Arts Theatre

* Students electing to pursue an Associate of Science degree may omit these requirements as well as elective hours. However, this will not meet ASU-Beebe degree requirements.

Third Semester (16 credit hours)

* ENG 2003 World Literature I
* HIST 1013 World Civilization to 1660
CHEM 1014 General Chemistry
PSY 2013 Introduction to Psychology
Elective (3 credit hours)

* Students electing to pursue an Associate of Science degree may omit these requirements as well as elective hours. However, this will not meet ASU-Beebe degree requirements.

Fourth Semester (14-15 credit hours)

* ENG 2013 World Literature II
* HIST 1023 World Civilization since 1660
Elective (6 credit hours)

Choose one of the following:

PE 1623 Concepts of Fitness (for 3 credit hours)
Two physical education activity courses for 1 credit hour each (for a total of 2 credit hours)

* Students electing to pursue an Associate of Science degree may omit these requirements as well as elective hours. However, this will not meet ASU-Beebe degree requirements.
