ASSOCIATE OF ARTS IN LIBERAL ARTS

ASU-Beebe, ASU-Heber Springs, and ASU-Searcy, & Little Rock Air Force Base

If you have not yet declared an area of study, advisors can help you to begin your education with the Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts (AA-LibArts) degree plan.  This plan is versatile and can be used to satisfy the basic requirements of many 4-year institutional programs of study.

However, we will encourage you to choose an area of study as soon as you are comfortable doing so.  Declaring an area of study has many advantages; mainly, we can pair you up with an advisor in that area who will know more about which courses you need for transfer.  These advisors will also know much more about entrance requirements for your preferred 4-year institution.

We recommend visiting with the Career Services and Coordinator of Testing in the Guidance Services office―located on the second floor of the Student Center.  The phone number is: (501) 882-4429.

The 62-hour Associate of Arts Degree has a 43-hour core curriculum that should transfer to any four-year university in the state; advisors assist students in selecting the additional hours from the student's planned major to maximize transfer of courses.  ASU-Beebe has transfer agreements with several universities in Arkansas.

Students can complete the first two years of most bachelor's degrees at Arkansas State University-Beebe.  Therefore, they can get an Associate of Arts degree from Arkansas State University-Beebe as a foundation for a major in almost any academic discipline.

Students can, therefore, achieve a majority of the general education requirements for a bachelor's degree in almost any academic discipline.
