University of Arkansas for Medical Services (UAMS)

ASU-Beebe does not offer a degree in Registered Nursing. However, students are able to take courses that will transfer toward another university's degree program.

The following information lists the courses that will transfer to the Registered Nursing program at another university.

Getting Started with ASU-Beebe

At ASU-Beebe, students can take courses that will transfer toward a program for Registered Nursing (RN). These pre-requisite courses are required general education and science courses.

Total Credit Hours for Pre-requisites: 63 hours

All general education prerequisite course grades must be a "C" or better. A cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or greater is also required.

The following courses at ASU-Beebe will transfer as program pre-requisites:

Humanities & English Composition (15 credit hours)

ENG 1003 Freshman English I
ENG 1013 Freshman English II
* ENG 1033 Technical Writing
PHIL 1003 Introduction to Philosophy
SPCH 1203 Oral Communications

* The following is from the UAMS list of general education pre-requisites: The Advanced Composition requirement can be met in one of the following ways: (1) by achieving a grade of "A" or "B" in English Composition I, and a grade of "A" in English Composition II; (2) by providing proof of credit earned by CLEP in English for both Compositions I & II (must appear on college transcript).

Social Sciences (15 credit hours)

PSY 2533 Lifespan Development

Choose one of the following (3 hours):

HIST 2763 The United States to 1876
HIST 2773 The United States since 1876
POSCI 2103 Introduction to U.S. Government

* HIST 1013 World Civilization to 1660
* HIST 1023 World Civilization since 1660
SOC 2233 Introduction to Cultural Anthropology

* ASU-Beebe requires one of these courses to fulfill degree requirements.

Earning the Associate of Science in Health Sciences Degree

Completing the following courses in addition to the above course pre-requisites will earn ASU-Beebe's degree for the Associate of Science in Health Sciences:
