Placement Scores

ACT Scores

Students (as well as transfers with fewer than 15 transfer credits) taking one or more remedial classes must take Freshman Seminar.

Students whose English score is above 19 but their Reading score is below 19 must take Reading Improvement before enrolling in Freshman English I. They may not take both courses concurrently.

ENGLISH

Students with ACT scores below 19 in English must take Developmental English.

READING

Students with ACT scores below 19 in Reading must take Reading Improvement.

MATHEMATICS

Students with ACT scores below 19 in Math may not take College Algebra.

Compass Scores

Students whose Writing score is above 75 but their Reading score is below 82 must take Reading Improvement before enrolling in Freshman English I. They may not take both courses concurrently.

WRITING

A 75 or higher in Writing is required to enroll in Freshman English I.
Below 75, you must take Developmental English.

READING

A 82 or higher in Reading is required to enroll in Freshman English I.
Below 82 you must take Developmental Reading.

MATHEMATICS

A 41 or higher in Algebra is required to enroll in College Algebra.
Score of 0 - 12: You must take Pre-Algebra.
Score of 13 - 25: You must take Developmental Algebra.
Score of 26 - 40: You must take Intermediate Algebra.
