If I work, how many classes should I take?
Deciding how much you can work and still be a successful student is a decision that requires consideration of many factors including: study habits, difficulty of classes, family responsibilities, and diligence.
Keep in mind, for every credit hour, it is generally expected that there may be one to three hours of outside-class activity, such as studying, reading, and homework.
Working students may find the following guide helpful in making their decision:
| Time at Your Job | Recommended Course Load |
| 40+ hours per week | 1 course per semester |
| 40 hours per week | 2 courses per semester |
| 30 hours per week | 2-3 courses per semester |
| 20 hours per week | 3-4 courses per semester |
| Less than 20 hours per week | 5 courses per semester may be feasible |
